All golfers have a favorite event to watch and follow. Mine is the US Open, and it started in 2011 when I had the opportunity to spend all day Saturday and Sunday at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland. It was a great experience to see the facility and watch some great golf for a couple of days, with Rory McIlroy winning the tournament.
In 2015, again had the opportunity to witness the US Open at Chamber Bay, University Place, Washington. Our family spent the entire Sunday at the golf course and watched some great golf at a fantastic facility to see an unbelievable outcome with Jordan Spieth winning the tournament.
Last year, while in Las Vegas in April playing some local golf courses visited a casino and decided that Mr. Dustin Johnson would do it in 2016 at Oakmont Country Club. I was at the TV on checking scores online a lot while working a very busy Father's Day weekend at the golf course last year. My win only paid out a couple of hundred dollars compared to Dustin's - but again highly enjoyed watching this event.
This year the US Open is so close in Wisconsin and would have loved to get there for a day to watch great golf and see this facility, Erin Hills. This year will have to be a year to enjoy watching it on TV and enjoying Father's Day weekend. If you ever have the opportunity to attend a US Open Golf Championship in the future, do it, fantastic experience.
