As most of you already know, Duluth Golf had a tough start to 2019 with turf damage at Enger Park and some very soggy conditions at Lester Park. Here we are in mid August and both facilities are in very good condition and will continue to be until the seasons change on us moving into winter. Fairways at both courses are playing fast and firm and with over 50 days in the 80's this summer, in a area that maybe sees 20, 80 degree days, a little dry in spots. Over the next couple of weeks lower temperatures and some much needed rain you will start to see the conditions green back up on the fairways with the nice fall color soon upon us on the trees - Duluth Golf becomes a very pretty place in the Fall.
The Back 9 at Enger Park has had some routine maintenance conducted today and tomorrow and will be closed. It will reopen Thursday morning. The other nines at both golf courses will have some routine maintenance conducted over the next week or two but it will not affect play or events.
Next week, Lester Park is open for five more weeks with a close date for the season on Oct. 1st. We are all hoping for at least nine to ten more weeks of golf at Enger Park before mother nature decides the ending date for golf in Duluth. Green Fee Specials and Pro Shop Merchandise Specials are coming soon - stay connected with us on social media, text club, our new APP and on our website. There is a lot more golf to play this season, and the golf courses are in shape and ready for it.
