It might annoy golfers for a few days, but without aerification, putting surfaces die. This is a highly beneficial golf course practice.
1) It relieves soil compaction,
2) It provides a method to improve the soil mixture around the highest part of a green's roots,
3) It reduces or prevents the accumulation of excess thatch.
Golfers thank you for your support and patience, we are conducting this practice at Enger Park Golf Course on August 21st, 22nd & 23rd weather permitting and the golf course conditions will be very playable before the weekend. This will prepare the turf for some great Fall Golf at your Duluth Golf Course. Lester Park Golf Course will stay open for play thru Sunday October 1st. On Monday October 2nd the greens will be aerified at Lester Park Golf Course and the course will prepare to be put to sleep for the winter months ahead.
Thank You Duluth Golfers for your patience this week.
